Ad spend and ROAS tracker

A 3x ROAS is not good news if you needed 3.4x to stand still. Log spend, orders and revenue per campaign; the sheet gives you cost per order, ROAS, the ROAS you had to beat and what is left after the goods.

What is inside

  • Settings: your gross margin on an average order.
  • Campaigns: dates, channel, spend, orders, revenue in; cost per order, ROAS, break-even ROAS and profit out.
  • A verdict column per campaign and a totals row for the account.

How to use it

  1. Open it in Excel, or upload it to Google Drive and open it with Google Sheets. Everything survives the trip: formulas, dropdowns and formats.
  2. Fill in the sand-coloured cells. They are the only ones meant for typing; every white cell is a formula that keeps itself correct.
  3. Start with the Settings sheet. The rates there drive every fee calculation in the workbook, and they come from your own account, not from us.
  4. Keep it open at the end of each week. A spreadsheet you update on the day you remember is worth more than a perfect one you fill in once a year.

Why we give it away

We build real business apps with AI tools and publish what they cost down to the cent, and these sheets came out of doing that: they are the ones we keep open ourselves. Giving them away costs us nothing and puts us in front of the people we write for. How we test explains where the numbers in them come from.

Questions

Where do I get my gross margin?

Revenue minus the goods, the shipping you pay and the payment fees, as a share of revenue. Our product profit spreadsheet works it out per product, and the income tracker gives it for the whole store.

Does it work for Google and TikTok too?

Yes. The channel column is a dropdown with the usual ones; the maths is the same wherever the traffic came from.

Why is the break-even ROAS the same on every row?

Because it comes from your margin, not from the campaign. Change the margin in Settings and every row updates.
